Now playing at a backyard near you – the ultimate outdoor movie
night!
Movie nights are a great way to spend quality time with your children, and
their friends and parents. Pick a movie, pop some popcorn, and veg out on the
lawn with the latest summer flicks. Check out these ideas for hosting a
backyard movie night of your own.
1. Snacks
Re-create the excitement of picking out a special treat from the concession
stand and indulging on extra buttery popcorn. Set out popcorn, pretzels, trail
mix, candy, and drinks and let your guests choose what they want to snack on.
2. Seating
Make the magic of a theater come to life with unique seating arrangements. A
fun way to watch a movie outside is in the pool. Have extra pool floats or
noodles for the kids to float on while watching the movie. This idea is perfect
for older kids and teenagers who are well-seasoned swimmers. Outdoor LED lights
are a great way to create a fun atmosphere with extra lighting. If pool seating
isn’t an option, or you are catering to a younger aged crowd, set up lawn
chairs, blankets, beanbags , and lots of outdoor throw pillows for
comfort. For the adults, have them sit on outdoor sofas or lounge chairs.
3. Movie Set Up
Playing a movie in your backyard is easier than you think. If you don’t have an
outdoor TV on your patio or need to play the movie on a bigger screen for a
group of kids, creating a movie theater screen can be done easily with a white
sheet. Projecting a movie requires a white or very light background. A white
sheet will work perfectly if you don’t want to invest in a projector screen.
The other essential items for projecting your movie are a laptop, a projector,
and a speaker. You can always rent projector from MAJIK if you don’t want to
purchase one.
